Create & publish a form

From a blank canvas to a working Umbraco content page.

Create your first form

Prefer a guided walkthrough? Follow Create a form with the wizard or Create a form with AI, both illustrated with recordings from this Umbraco site.

  1. Sign in to the Umbraco backoffice and open MegaForm → Forms → Create form.
  2. Choose a blank form or a template. Give it a useful title such as “Workshop enquiry”.
  3. Add Input fields for name and email, a Dropdown for workshop, and a Long Text input for the message.
  4. Select each field to edit its label, stable field key, help text and validation. Mark only essential fields Required.
  5. Open Form Settings → After submit and write the confirmation message.
  6. Save, use Preview, and then publish the form.

Put it on an Umbraco page

Add a property using MegaForm Form Picker to the page's Document Type. In Content, choose the published form on the page. Render that property in the page's Razor template using the embedding guide, then Save and publish the content page.

Verify the complete journey

Open the public page while signed out. Submit fictional data, check required-field errors, and confirm the thank-you message. Return to MegaForm Submissions, select the same form and open the new entry.

If the form uses email, SQL, PDF or a workflow, check the destination or run history too. A successful thank-you screen alone does not verify every configured integration.

The working examples demonstrate SQL rows, completed PDF attachments and C# confirmation messages on this site.
