Start with a reusable design
For a recorded, step-by-step example, see Choose a template & make it your own.
Open the template choices when creating a form. The Online Gallery supplies portable form definitions and associated assets. The live gallery on this site shows 82 designs rendered on Umbraco.
After creating your copy, review labels, option values, dates, images, consent wording and integrations. A template is a starting point; example event details are not operational settings for your business.
Import and export
Use the dashboard's import/export actions for form JSON. Keep field keys stable when existing workflows or SQL mappings use them. Import assets through the supported template flow; do not assume a generic file such as hero.webp identifies the same image in every design.
Server-approved scripts and secrets require separate administrator configuration. An imported template must not silently enable server code or carry credentials to another installation.
Embed without affecting the page
Keep custom CSS scoped to the form's root container. Avoid body, global h1, viewport-width backgrounds or fixed positioning in a design intended for a page pane. Let standard forms inherit the site's typography and colours where appropriate.
Test the imported copy on the actual page at desktop and narrow widths, including images, carousel arrows, conditional fields and submission. See Theme integration and Controls & widgets.
